Visa for digital nomads: 40 countries that offer it.
Recently we were telling you that Portugal opened its visa for digital nomads, but did you know that there are 40 more countries that already have this tip? Today we tell you more details.
Definitely, one of the most important and desired benefits of being a digital nomad is the possibility of traveling. You have no obligation to stay in a fixed place, you make the world your office.
The digital revolution, the conditions of the place of origin, the currency or simply the monotony make more and more nomads seeking new horizons. However, each country has its own legislation and it is necessary to have the required documentation to make your experience as a traveler legal and enjoyable.
The first thing you should know is that the countries that have a visa for digital nomads are mainly located in Europe and Latin America. Each one has a different set of conditions to access this visa. Informing yourself very well about each destination is essential for your process to be successful.
The validity of this visa ranges from 3 to 36 months. The only country that does not charge for the visa process is Mauritius, while there are other countries such as Barbados that can charge up to $2,000 USD. In addition, most of them require insurance and proof of earning a certain amount of money, which varies according to the requirements of each country. Some destinations even require documents such as a criminal record to access the visa or slightly more complicated conditions such as having a registered company or working for a registered company outside the national territory.
How likely is it that your application will be denied?
Unlike other types of visas, this option is easy to access and in the cases in which it is usually denied, it is mainly because the monetary requirement imposed by each country is not met. This is due to the fact that it is sought that people entering the country do so with a previous economic stability and do not come to seek opportunities that could be taken by locals.
